The Galaxy’s Most Dangerous Villain Gets His Final Two Episodes on Star Wars Day — Everything You Need to Know

Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord is a ten-episode animated series set during the Imperial Era, a few short years after Order 66, following the former Sith Maul as he rebuilds his criminal empire. It is created by Dave Filoni, the architect of much of the modern Star Wars animated universe, and developed alongside Matt Michnovetz with Brad Rau as supervising director. Fandom

Sam Witwer, who voiced Maul in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, reprises his role, ensuring the character feels authentic. The series also introduces Devon Izara, a Twi’lek Jedi on the run after Order 66 and a potential new apprentice for Maul — the central tension driving Season 1 forward. Bored Panda

What Happened in Episodes 7 & 8? (Quick Recap)

Maul once again failed to recruit Devon to his side and faced a major setback — a significant portion of his Mandalorian troops deserted him, and he was backed into a corner with Marrok and the Eleventh Brother closing in.

The Empire has forced Janix into mandatory curfews, with strong Inquisitors making landfall on the planet to assist in the capture of Maul, Devon, and Master Daki. Meanwhile, rifts within Maul’s own party have left him more isolated than ever heading into the finale. PRIMETIMER

What to Expect in Episodes 9 & 10

Maul’s personal past, including his complicated feelings toward Darth Sidious, may influence his decisions throughout the season finale.

Come the finale, Devon — tormented by the way Maul sees the world and her loyalty to her own master — will likely face a choice that could either begin her apprenticeship with Maul or possibly see the demise of Master Daki. FandomWire

One of the biggest teases heading into the finale: the inclusion of Dryden Vos as a major character, which will likely highlight his rising influence within this storyline and beyond into the broader Star Wars universe. Early reviews of Season 1 omitted the final two episodes — could we be getting a huge, Darth Vader-shaped surprise? Marrok’s mysterious comm call in Episode 8 strongly suggests someone significant is on the other end of the line. SportskeedaGamesRadar+
