Victor Osimhen being urged to join Chelsea by ex-star: Release clause details

Victor Osimhen is a target for Chelsea, and Napoli will seek the full £113 million release clause in any deal this summer.

Osimhen is one of the top options Chelsea is considering as they want to add a striker.

Chelsea will have to exercise caution due to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability regulations, but their argument that they need to sell players for £100 million by June 30 in order to avoid PSR consequences has been refuted. This is true even though the club’s prior records, from June to June of the 2021/22 season, showed a post-June 30 loss of nearly £200 million. To stay within PSR regulations, losses of up to £105 million might be recorded over a three-year period.

Why do Chelsea need Victor Osimhen?

Chelsea’s primary goal is to buy a striker, and player sales should cover any gap after Chelsea’s poor finishing again proved costly in the Carabao Cup final defeat.

Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain might challenge one other for Osimhen’s services.

As they continue their title challenge, Arsenal are considering a number of attackers, while PSG appears to be fully dedicated to taking on Chelsea. Osimhen is viewed by the French powerhouses as a substitute for Kylian Mbappe, who is moving on to Real Madrid.

They will now save over €200 million (£171 million) by offloading the highest-paid player in Europe, even though they had intended to keep Mbappe.
The president of Napoli, Aurelio De Laurentiis, said Wednesday that he “cannot stop” the Nigerian from departing. However, he is known for being one of the hardest negotiators and will not accept even £1 million less than the entire amount stipulated in a contract inked in December.

Mikel John Obi speaks regularly to Osimhen

Chelsea will have difficulty spending so much, particularly if they miss out on European competition for a second year in a row. A left- and center-back are also being sought after.
Osimhen, 25, is being courted by his friend and former Blues midfielder Mikel John Obi to join Chelsea in order to follow in the footsteps of his idol, Didier Drogba. “I keep sending him text messages, calling him and making sure he joins Chelsea,” Mikel stated.

Although I know he loves Chelsea, he is being pursued by other teams. Didier [Drogba] is conversing with him as well, and we have been sharing with him our passion for the club.

“It would be amazing if we could acquire him, but there is a significant transfer price. We don’t have a player like Erling Haaland who can finish and score goals, as you witnessed in the [Carabao Cup] final. I hope he joins Chelsea and I think there will be discussions at the end of the season.”
