Two New Faces, One Big Countdown: Kagurabachi Reveals Hinao and Char Ahead of Its 2027 Debut

The wait for Kagurabachi’s anime just got a little more exciting. Crunchyroll has dropped brand-new character trailers spotlighting two key figures from the upcoming series, giving fans their first real glimpse at the voices and personalities behind Hinao and Char Kyonagi.

Meet the New Characters

Hinao works at Cafe Haru Haru, a spot that quietly bridges the criminal underworld with the world of sorcerers, making her a crucial connective thread in the story. She’ll be voiced by Miku Ito. Char Kyonagi, meanwhile, is introduced as a cheerful and courageous young girl who finds herself being pursued for mysterious, unexplained reasons — a mystery fans will likely see unravel once the series airs. Miyari Nemoto takes on the voice role for Char.

Both trailers offer a closer look at these characters ahead of the show’s premiere, adding fresh detail to a cast that’s been building anticipation since the project was first announced.

Kagurabachi: Overview

The anime is based on Takeru Hokazono’s manga, which has already surpassed 4 million copies in circulation including digital editions, making it one of the more closely watched adaptations heading into 2027. The series is directed by Tetsuya Takeuchi, with character designs handled by Keigo Sasaki. Animation production comes from Cypic, the studio behind Umamusume: Cinderella Gray and The Summer Hikaru Died, both of which have earned attention for their visual style.

Where and When to Watch

Kagurabachi will stream worldwide on Crunchyroll starting in April 2027, though it won’t be available in Japan, Mainland China, North Korea, or South Korea. With a growing character roster and a studio known for strong visual work behind the animation, expectations for the adaptation continue to build.
