Doraemon: Castle of the Undersea Devil: Day 11 at a Glance

The anime film collected an estimated Rs 75 lakh gross on its second Monday. That is a 40% drop from the previous Friday, which is a healthy hold for an animated release. Its second-week total stands at Rs 7.25 crore, and the 11-day theatrical run is reported at about Rs 20.75 crore gross.

It has already become the biggest grosser of the Doraemon franchise in India, and trade estimates expect it to wrap this week at around Rs 23 crore.

What Is the Film About?

The story follows Nobita and his friends on an undersea camping trip powered by Doraemon’s futuristic gadgets. Their adventure leads them to the hidden Mu Federation, where they make a frightening discovery. Poseidon, a rogue AI from the ancient Atlantis civilization, has activated a weapon capable of destroying Earth.

The group teams up with Mu’s El and heads into the Bermuda Triangle to stop it. Whether they succeed is what the film explores. You can read more about the franchise on Wikipedia.

Why This Run Matters?

Family animation tends to be strong on weekends and soft on weekdays, because school and work keep audiences at home. A modest Monday drop suggests the film is drawing steady repeat and family viewing instead of just a one-time rush.

Trade estimates also say it should keep gaining traction with similar momentum over the coming weeks and close its run on a healthy note. How far it goes from here is the interesting question. Follow our box office updates on Technosports for the next numbers.
