Why This Matters
Both Chiranjeevi and Mohanlal command enormous fan followings across Telugu and Malayalam cinema respectively. Despite their legendary status spanning over four decades, the two icons have never appeared together on screen. This potential collaboration represents more than just star power—it’s a bridge between two major South Indian film industries.
The Director’s Track Record
Bobby Kolli previously worked with Chiranjeevi on Waltair Veerayya, which became a commercial success in 2023. The director’s ability to balance action sequences with emotional storytelling makes him an ideal choice for bringing together two acting powerhouses. Reports suggest Mega158 will feature intense gangster drama layered with strong emotional undertones.
Chiranjeevi’s Packed Schedule
The Megastar currently has multiple high-profile projects lined up. His next release, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu directed by Anil Ravipudi, arrives January 12, 2026, for Sankranti. The action-comedy features Nayanthara opposite Chiranjeevi. He’s also completed filming Viswambhara, a fantasy actioner expected in 2026, plus has a future project with The Paradise director Srikanth Odela.
Mohanlal’s Lineup
The Malayalam superstar recently appeared in a cameo for Bha Bha Ba alongside Dileep. His fantasy action film Vrusshabha releases December 25, 2025, where he portrays a businessman experiencing past-life visions. With Drishyam 3 slated for summer 2026, Mohanlal also has roles confirmed in Patriot, Jailer 2, Thuddakkam, and Khalifa.
