Sports games are the perfect combination of the two hobbies with the most passionate people surrounding it–sports and video gaming. Regardless if you are also a physical player or a complete virtual athlete, there is no denying that playing sports games is one big way to showcase your love, knowledge, and passion for a sport. Also, patronizing sports video games is one way to keep the interest in the game alive and thus, keep the entirety of the sports industry going, too.

Sports gaming is also a big thing, although not as big as sports itself. People who are fans of sports are not only into playing games but also into betting on their favorite sports. In the meantime, here are some of the biggest and most exciting sports games that were released this 2020.

NBA 2K21

NBA 2K is a sports series emulating basketball or specifically, the National Basketball League or the NBA. Since its first release way back in 1999, the game develops and releases new instalments every year with improvements in graphics, game mechanics, and new gameplay features for every new release.

Madden NFL 20

Although the real-life NFL has had its share of controversies and issues, EA’s Madden NFL 20 was still well-received with all of its classic gameplay as well as the new features and game mode it added. Not only that, but fans are now also excited for the next-gen game from the series, Madden NFL 21, which will be released for the next-gen consoles of the PlayStation and Xbox series.

UFC 3

What made UFC 3 one of the most praised sports games of the year was the massive improvements it implemented. For this third instalment for this series, EA added in more than 5,000 new fight animations, making matches look more fluid and realistic, two things that make MMA fighting an exciting sport to watch in the first place.

This instalment also introduced the feature where players can make their own UFC champion with their chosen customizable signature move, and not tie them to picking only from the likeness of real-life warriors of the octagon.

Mutant Football League

One of the classic favorites from the old Sega Genesis console, EA takes Mutant Football League for this new generation of gaming. Featuring mutant species such as zombies, orc, demon, ogres, werewolves, and other monsters, Mutant Football League is an American-football game that brings a total disregard to all the rules but rather has its own set of crazy, wild, and exciting style of playing football. If you thought American football is dirty as it is, this game would make it look dirty for amateurs.

Rocket League

Technically, Rocket League was not released this year. Game developer Psyonix released the smash-hit game way back in 2015 and the fact that managed to stay relevant in its genre of sports games speaks a lot about its quality and its ability to keep its player base engaged while managing to attract new people to the pool at the same time, too.

When it was first released, Rocket League was the craze and was even dubbed as Game of The Year. After all, it combined two big sports in one game that some people might think of as a crazy idea. However, it worked, and it worked very effectively. Meet Rocket League, a soccer game where you have blazing cars burning rubber on the field instead of people running around. How cool is that?
