1. Don’t Trouble the Trouble: Fahadh Faasil plays Suri, a street-smart con artist who tags along with a schoolgirl, Divya, and discovers she’s a real wish-granting genie. When she accidentally makes her parents vanish, he joins her chaotic quest to bring them back, and slowly learns about care and responsibility. Directed by Shashank Yeleti, with Ssara Palekar, Saurabh Sachdeva and Mahesh Manjrekar.

2. Baththa: Vijay Sethupathi and Lijomol Jose star in Balaji Tharaneetharan’s film, set in 1986 Madras. A timid eight-year-old accidentally locks the feared local bad guy in a school restroom, and an unlikely friendship grows between them. It explores the gap between a fearsome reputation and a softer side.

3. Bail: Shiva Rajkumar plays Vijay Kumar, a retired officer haunted by an unresolved personal case. When the system fails him, he takes matters into his own hands and is drawn into betrayal and vengeance. Pavan Wadeyar directs, with Sanjana Anand, Dheekshith Shetty and Sai Kumar.

4. Thella Kaagitham: A rural, 2000s-set romance about two teenagers in the sweetness of first love. One mistake changes their lives, and real-world challenges test their bond. Ramesh Brandreddi directs Harsh Roshan and Bogapathi Nakshatra.

5. Sigma: Jason Sanjay, Thalapathy Vijay’s son, makes his directorial debut. Sundeep Kishan plays Guru, a radio host secretly working as a treasure hunter. 8. Anbil Avan: Ashok Selvan and Preity Mukhundhan play a newly married couple whose quiet life is upended by a mysterious home invasion. It became a fight for survival that tests their love. Karthikeyan Ramakrishnan directs. It opened on 25 September, so it’s already in theatres.

9. Avaraachan & Sons: Biju Menon plays a carefree widower in Chellanam whose reckless ways spark a dangerous feud. He flees to a North Kerala hill station, and the escape turns into a funny, heartfelt journey of redemption. Sreenath Bhasi, Vinay Forrt and Grace Antony co-star.

10. Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai: Directed by Ram, this stars Nivin Pauly, Soori and Anjali. On a rain-soaked train, 32-year-old Raghu meets Muthu, a stranger who claims to be 8,000 years old. Flashbacks reveal Muthu’s centuries-old love for Aadhira, who is reborn across eras.
