Still Shining: Lee Se Young and Kim Hye Ja Bring a Grandmother-Granddaughter Bond to the Big Screen This October

Some films don’t need explosions or plot twists. They just need a blanket, two people who love each other, and a lifetime of memories. Still Shining looks like one of those, and its new stills are already tugging at hearts.

Still Shining: Film Snapshot

What’s the Story?

The film follows Soon Ok (Kim Hye Ja), who reunites with her best friend Jung Im (Cha Mi Kyung) after 60 years. Jung Im shared the most brilliant moments of her life, so the meeting stirs up a lifetime of memories. It’s a story about friendships that survive time and distance.

Lee Se Young as the Devoted Granddaughter

Lee Se Young plays Ji An, Soon Ok’s only granddaughter. Raised by her grandmother from a young age, Ji An grows up to be a writer, and she stays close to Soon Ok as both family and companion.

One newly released still shows Ji An sitting close to her grandmother under the same blanket. It’s a small moment, but it captures the tenderness between them. The film’s makers expect Kim Hye Ja and Lee Se Young’s chemistry to bring warmth and emotional depth to the story.

What Lee Se Young Says?

Lee Se Young said she was delighted to work with Kim Hye Ja, calling the experience special even though it was brief. She described Still Shining as a film that makes you reflect on family, friendship and life, and on things that shouldn’t be forgotten.
