Fans of Ben Edlund’s beloved superhero satire have reason to celebrate. Hot on the heels of the classic 2001 Patrick Warburton series landing on Netflix, the critically acclaimed 2016 Amazon Prime Video reboot of The Tick is now confirmed to be making the jump to Netflix in select international territories. Here’s everything you need to know.

Why This Is a Big Deal
The 2016 reboot stars Peter Serafinowicz in the titular blue suit alongside Griffin Newman as Arthur, and ran for two critically acclaimed seasons — giving fans 22 episodes of superhero satire to binge. Despite being a Prime Video Original, the show was always distributed by Sony Pictures Television, meaning its streaming exclusivity was never permanent. whats-on-netflix
The exclusivity rights have likely come up, allowing Sony Pictures Television to monetize the show elsewhere, with Netflix swooping in and securing the rights to this brilliant modern take on the character.
This is a classic example of how streaming rights work in the modern TV landscape — even a platform-exclusive show can eventually find a second home once the licensing window opens.
Where Can You Watch The Tick 2016 Reboot on Netflix?
Streaming rights are completely region-dependent. Latin American countries including Brazil and Argentina, European territories including the UK and Germany, and Australia are all confirmed to receive the reboot — with Australia getting the ultimate double feature of both the 2001 series and the 2016 reboot.
Bad News for US & Canadian Fans
The United States and Canada are currently the two biggest notable absences from both licensing deals. For now, domestic fans will have to stick to Prime Video to watch the 2016 iteration. There’s no confirmed timeline for when — or if — the US rights will follow. whats-on-netflix
