Obsession Streams Uncut Tonight: Is Curry Barker’s $500M Horror Worth Your Halloween?

A film made for just $750,000 that went on to earn over half a billion dollars worldwide? That’s the real horror story for Hollywood’s big studios.

Obsession, Curry Barker’s supernatural horror hit, lands on Indian streaming today, October 30, in its original uncut form.

Obsession OTT Release Date

What Is Obsession About?

The film’s premise is simple and unsettling: a couple becomes consumed by their attraction to each other, and a supernatural twist pulls that desire into dark territory. The characters, Bear and Nikki, are played by Michael Johnston and Inde Navarrette. The film explores romance, desire and control, and the horror feels uncomfortably human.

Barker also appears in the film as the voice of a customer service representative from One Wish Willow.

How a Tiny Film Became a Giant?

The backstory is as good as the film:

1. YouTube roots: Barker first caught industry attention with his short film The Chair, which he uploaded online.
2. A festival start: Obsession premiered at TIFF on September 5, 2025.
3. A runaway hit: It went on to gross more than $500 million globally.

You can read the full production story on Wikipedia’s Obsession page and learn more about the filmmaker on Curry Barker’s profile.

Why the “Uncut” Label Matters?

For Indian viewers, the big draw is the original version, without trims. If you skipped the theatrical run or want the full experience, this is it. It also lands right in time for Halloween weekend.

Should You Watch It?

Watch it if you like psychological horror built on relationships rather than jump scares. Keep the lights low and the volume up. Reports on the streaming date are consistent, so JioHotstar is your safest bet tonight.
