The Full Voice Cast
Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, and Keegan-Michael Key all reprise their roles from the first film, joined by exciting new additions — Brie Larson as Rosalina, Benny Safdie as Bowser Jr., Donald Glover as Yoshi, Issa Rae as Honey Queen, and Glen Powell as Star Fox protagonist Fox McCloud. The Star Fox cameo alone has sent fans into orbit.
What’s the Story?
Life in the Mushroom Kingdom is disrupted when glowing star pieces start raining from the sky and Rosalina crashes her wrecked ship nearby. Meanwhile, a reckless Bowser Jr. is using dark magic and a mysterious brush to free his shrunken father from his tiny jar prison — accidentally ripping open wormholes across space in the process. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, and their new friend Yoshi hijack a spaceship and blast off to collect Grand Stars and stop the chaos.
The film is based on the beloved 2007 video game Super Mario Galaxy and its 2010 sequel, with a score by Brian Tyler performed by a 70-piece orchestra featuring re-recorded themes from the Galaxy series. Netflix Tudum

Why This One Is Going to Be Even Bigger
Both the original film and this sequel are co-produced by Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri and Nintendo’s legendary Shigeru Miyamoto Buzzwithriz, ensuring the game’s DNA remains genuinely intact on screen. Production began in early 2024, with animation completed by Illumination Studios Paris in November 2025 and post-production wrapping in January 2026. Netflix Tudum
