The Paradise Box Office Day 1: Nani’s Biggest Opening Ever, But Is It Enough?

Nani’s The Paradise just delivered the actor’s best opening day of his career — and it still might not be enough to keep the momentum going. Big numbers on day one, shaky word of mouth right after: that’s the story of this Telugu action-thriller’s box office debut.

A Career-Best Opening, With a Catch

The Paradise collected roughly Rs. 51 crore in India on its opening day, including Rs. 13 crore from Wednesday night previews, pushing the film’s worldwide total to nearly Rs. 71 crore. That comfortably more than doubles Nani’s previous personal best, held by Dasara in 2023. The film performed strongest in urban centers, a typical pattern for movies fronted by younger stars, with the Nizam region alone contributing Rs. 22 crore.

But the celebration comes with a warning sign: early audience reception has reportedly been lukewarm, and for a big-budget release, a soft response after a strong start usually means a noticeable drop as the week goes on.

What Happens Next?

Industry trackers expect a dip on day two, though the weekend should help the film stay afloat in city centers. The real test comes from Monday onward, when word of mouth typically decides whether a film holds or collapses. The Paradise reunites Nani with Dasara director Srikanth Odela, and expectations were sky-high given that pairing’s earlier success.

Nani has built a career on versatile, high-stakes roles across Telugu cinema — a journey documented in detail on his Wikipedia page for those wanting the fuller picture of his filmography.
