The penultimate episode of The Last Thing He Told Me Season 2 just delivered its most stunning twist yet — a father’s final act of sacrifice that shatters the Campano crime empire and leaves everyone’s fate hanging by a thread.

Just when a fragile peace seemed within reach in Paris, a hired assassin walked in and changed everything. Episode 7 is the kind of TV moment you’ll still be thinking about days later.

The Last Thing He Told Me S2 Episode 7 Recap: All Roads Lead to Paris

Episode 7 picks up after Bailey and Nicholas plan to travel to Paris, where the Campanos have gathered to celebrate Frank’s 80th birthday. Hannah and Owen are also in France after their trip to Marseille, carrying $5 million stolen from Teddy’s shipping container as leverage to finally secure their family’s freedom.

Owen texts Teddy impersonating Perec, the mafia boss, luring him to a watch store. But before they can make their move, Quinn spots Hannah at a nearby café and directly approaches her — shutting down any possibility of a negotiation and making clear the Campano family has no interest in deals.

Nicholas & Frank: A Friendship That Sealed Frank’s Fate

Despite being told not to make contact, Nicholas secretly meets Frank at Hotel Lumineux. He tells Frank he believes Teddy may have been responsible for Kate’s death. Frank initially defends his son, but cannot ignore the mounting evidence of Teddy’s dangerous solo decisions. Nicholas then proposes a deal — asking for Owen’s freedom so Hannah, Owen, and Bailey can live without fear. PRIMETIMER

Who Orchestrated Frank’s Death?

The episode doesn’t reveal who ordered the hit on Frank. The assassin was clearly targeting Teddy — possibly tied to the $5 million loss or Teddy’s unsanctioned mafia dealings. With Frank gone, the Campano family is now missing its main leader, leaving Teddy and Quinn as volatile and unpredictable successors.

This shocking turn is quintessential crime fiction storytelling — a patriarch’s singular act of love destroying the stability of his entire empire.

The season finale, Episode 8, premieres April 10, 2026 on Apple TV+ and is expected to finally answer who hired the assassin and whether Bailey’s search for the truth about Kate’s death can liberate her family once and for all. PRIMETIMER
