A former gang boss walking down the aisle? Only in K-drama. JTBC’s brand-new series “The Apartment Job” kicks off with a fake wedding twist, and Ji Sung’s transformation from intimidating to irresistibly charming is already the talk of the town.

The drama follows Park Hae Kang (Ji Sung), a former Oasis Gang boss who runs for president of his apartment complex’s resident council — all to get his hands on the building’s hidden reserve fund. Along the way, he ends up teaming up with fellow residents to expose deep-rooted corruption instead.

The Apartment Job: The Fake Wedding That Kicks It All Off

What the Production Team Is Teasing

According to the show’s production team, Ji Sung’s shift from menacing ex-gangster to a tender, doting groom sets the tone for the series, paired with Ha Yun Kyung’s radiant on-screen presence as the bride. They’ve promised an entertaining opening chapter that leads straight into the high-stakes fund battle.

This blend of crime-comedy and romantic misdirection fits neatly into the growing tradition of Korean drama storytelling, where contrasting genres often collide to keep audiences hooked from episode one.
