From Gangster to Reluctant Hero

“The Apartment Job” follows Park Hae Kang, a former gang boss who runs for president of his apartment complex’s resident council purely to get his hands on its hidden reserve fund — only to end up teaming with fellow residents to expose real corruption along the way. It’s a premise that’s turned an ordinary housing complex into the setting for one of this summer’s most talked-about K-dramas.

War Is Declared, and the Moms Are In

The previous episode ended with Hae Kang openly declaring war on Lee Choong Won after refusing to commit murder in exchange for the 10 billion won (roughly $7.1 million) he was after. Now, cornered and out of easy options, he makes a bold move: rallying a group of apartment moms — led by Cha Yoon Jo — for a coordinated livestream exposé on YouTube.

Matching Cat Masks, Maximum Impact

According to newly released stills, the moms show up in matching black outfits and cat masks, clearly built for visual impact as they go live to publicly call out Lee Choong Won using evidence uncovered at the complex’s kindergarten. The production team teased that “a small clue found at the kindergarten becomes the trigger for uncovering massive corruption,” setting up what promises to be one of the show’s biggest confrontations yet.

The Apartment Job is a South Korean crime comedy television series written by Kim Yoon-young, directed by Jo Yong-won, and starring Ji Sung, Ha Yoon-kyung, Park Byung-eun, and Moon So-ri, which premiered on JTBC on July 11, 2026.
