Coordinated Outfits, Same Car, and Now a Mother’s ‘Like’ — Is Thalapathy Vijay and Trisha Krishnan’s Wedding Actually Happening?

South Indian cinema’s most talked-about rumoured romance just got a new chapter — and this one involves a social media like from Trisha’s mother that has sent the internet into complete overdrive. The speculation surrounding Thalapathy Vijay and Trisha Krishnan has been building for weeks, but on March 19, 2026, things took a noticeably more concrete-feeling turn.

Thalapathy Vijay and Trisha Krishnan Rumours — What We Know So Far

The ‘Like’ That Started Everything

Fan edits imagining Vijay and Trisha together have been flooding social media for a while now — but what changed on March 19 was a reportedly significant one: Trisha’s mother, Uma Krishnan, allegedly liked one such fan-made reel depicting the two getting married. Per a report by News18, this has fuelled widespread speculation that the family may be quietly signalling their approval of the relationship.

It is important to note that no official confirmation has emerged from either Vijay or Trisha, and this remains speculative at this stage.

The Public Appearance That Started It All

The fuel was already in place before the like. Vijay and Trisha had made a joint appearance at a wedding reception — wearing noticeably coordinated outfits — and left the venue in the same vehicle. For a pair that has never publicly acknowledged their relationship, that was a remarkably visible move. Trisha’s silence since has only amplified the noise, particularly when she walked past reporters at an airport without responding to questions about the matter.

The Backdrop: Vijay’s Ongoing Divorce

All of this is unfolding against a complicated personal backdrop for Vijay. His wife of nearly 27 years, Sangeetha Sornalingam, is reportedly pursuing divorce proceedings, with reports suggesting she has also filed for residential rights to their matrimonial home amid the legal process. An alimony figure of ₹250 crore has been cited in reports, though this remains unconfirmed.

Thalapathy Vijay is one of Tamil cinema’s biggest superstars and has in recent years also entered the political sphere, making his personal life a matter of intense public interest.
