Tecno Pop 8 is launching in India on January 3: specs, price, and availability

TECNO has announced that the TECNO POP 8, the company’s upcoming low-cost smartphone in the POP series, would go on sale in India on January 3. The phone has 64GB of storage and 8GB (4GB+4GB) of RAM, which is said to be the quickest in its class.

The Tecno Pop 8’s AnTuTu score was made public. On the well-known benchmarking platform, this new smartphone scored more than 24,000. As of right now, the Pop 8’s Amazon microsite has gone live, confirming its regional availability.

Tecno Pop 8 specifications and other features

According to Tecno, the phone will be the quickest 8GB model in this market, according to the online store. 4GB of actual RAM and an additional 4GB of virtual RAM are included in the 8GB of memory, based on what we currently know. 64GB of internal storage is also included.

With a large 5,000mAh battery pack that supports conventional 10W charging, the Tecno Pop 8 is powered by the UNISOC T606 SoC. A 6.6-inch, 90Hz LCD panel with HD+ quality and an 8-megapixel selfie camera are located on the front of the smartphone. On the back, there is a dual 13-megapixel camera with an LED flash.

Perhaps the Unisoc T606 CPU, an octa-core chipset clocked at 1.6 GHz, powers the Tecno Pop 8. This chip, which is mostly aimed at low-cost smartphones, should have no trouble performing simple tasks like browsing, chatting, and light gaming. Nevertheless, multitasking and intensive apps may provide some difficulties.

The RAM amounts, which might be anywhere from 2GB to 4GB, are still unknown. Although internal memory of 64GB or 128GB may be available, storage options are still pending confirmation.

The Tecno Pop 8’s official price has not yet been disclosed. But given Tecno’s track record of producing affordable devices and the features that have been rumored, a price range of Rs 7,000 to Rs 12,000 seems feasible.

If the rumors about this device are accurate, the Tecno Pop 8 may become a competitor in the low-cost smartphone market, trying to attract customers with its reasonable cost and simple features.
