Tech Mahindra and Jaipur Literature Festival Establish Global India Book Prize

Tech Mahindra, a global provider of technology consulting and digital solutions, has partnered with the Jaipur Literature Festival to introduce the Tech Mahindra Global India Book Prize. This new international literary award aims to recognize authors whose works contribute to a deeper global understanding of India’s evolving role, complexity, and diversity.

The prize seeks to acknowledge outstanding books that enhance international comprehension of India through significant literary, intellectual, or cultural contributions. The initiative aligns with a shared objective between Tech Mahindra (https://www.techmahindra.com/) and the Jaipur Literature Festival to promote literature that fosters dialogue on contemporary global themes.

Tech Mahindra and Jaipur Literature Festival Award Scope and Selection Process

Open to both Indian and international authors, the award will consider books that make substantial contributions to the global understanding of India across various genres. Eligible categories include fiction, non-fiction, history, biography, business, science, culture, and public affairs. Submissions must be published in English during the calendar year preceding the award.

An independent jury will oversee the selection process, evaluating works based on literary excellence, their contribution to understanding India, global relevance and resonance, originality, and overall cultural and intellectual impact.

Mohit Joshi, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tech Mahindra, emphasized the importance of literature in clarifying complex ideas. “As technology advances, the ability to communicate intricate concepts clearly becomes paramount. This prize honors authors who make these ideas accessible and stimulate deeper conversations about the forces shaping our future,” Joshi stated.

Sanjoy K Roy, Managing Director of Teamwork Arts Pvt. Ltd., highlighted the prize’s focus on comprehensive engagement with India. “The Tech Mahindra Global India Book Prize aims to encourage writing that delves into India’s complexities, fostering meaningful discussions about its past, present, and future relationship with the world,” Roy added.

The partnership underscores Tech Mahindra’s commitment to supporting global knowledge initiatives and creating platforms that encourage dialogue and innovation. The inaugural winner of the Tech Mahindra Global India Book Prize is scheduled to be announced in January 2027 during the Jaipur Literature Festival.
