Tata Punch EV interior pictures leaked online

Tata Motors will release an electrified version of its popular Punch SUV. More than 2 lakh units of the ICE variant have lately been produced. Tata Punch EV has been spotted on the road ahead of its introduction. Both the exteriors and interiors of the SUV can be seen, offering additional details about it.

The exteriors of Tata Punch EV are virtually the same as those of its ICE siblings, as has been the case with electric versions of Nexon, Tiago, and Tigor. To give the electric version a distinct identity, certain cosmetic changes are expected.

The new set of sporty alloy wheels is one noticeable modification. They appear to be ordinary alloy spoke wheels. However, a closer look reveals fin-like features for increased air channeling. Other features will be similar to those of ICE Punch. It has a characteristic humanity line, squarish wheel arches, heavy body cladding, 90° opening doors, roof rails, and edgy tail lamps.

One of the most noticeable interior improvements is a new two-spoke steering wheel. Nexon facelift test mules have also been sighted with a similar-looking steering wheel. Tata debuted this redesigned steering wheel alongside the Curvv concept SUV. It features capacitive touch surfaces and toggles, as well as an illuminated Tata logo in the centre.

An older Tata Punch EV test mule was sighted with a rotary dial. It raises the prospect of the SUV receiving an electronic parking brake.

This feature is already available on the Nexon EV Max. Push button start/stop, automatic climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, auto fold ORVMs, and a cooled glove box are among the other amenities slated for the Tata Punch EV.

It will be equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, voice commands, and iRA connectivity technology. There is also a rear disc brake, touch AC controls, and a 360-degree camera.

The Tata Punch EV will mostly be used for city commutes. It should also be capable of handling intercity travel. Cities within a 200-kilometer radius should be easily accessible. As charging infrastructure becomes more widely available along roads, even entry-level EVs should be able to travel larger distances with ease.

The Punch EV is intended to have a range of about 300 km. Battery packs are similar to those used in Tiago EV could be used. The Tiago EV is offered in two range options: 250 km and 315 km. A similar method can be applied to Punch EV. In terms of competitors, the Citroen eC3 has a range of 320 km. The MG Comet EV has a range of 230 km on a single charge.
