Maruti Suzuki Jimny

The Maruti Suzuki Jimny, a lifestyle off-roader, has secured the top spot in the list of upcoming SUVs in India. This highly anticipated vehicle is scheduled to be launched in June and will compete with models such as the Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha. The Jimny, a five-door SUV, represents the latest addition to Maruti Suzuki’s lineup of ladder-on-frame vehicles. It will be offered in two variants, namely Zeta and Alpha, and will feature Suzuki’s AllGrip four-wheel-drive system as a standard inclusion.

It will be driven by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated K15B petrol engine capable of producing 105 PS and 138 Nm of torque. The engine is available with two gearbox options: a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic.

Honda Elevate

This new SUV will also launch in June of this year, competing with class leaders such as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, among others. The Honda Elevate is expected to be equipped with the same 1.5-liter petrol engine that powers the Honda City mid-size car and delivers 121 PS and 150 Nm of torque. Honda is expected to debut this model in the Rs 12-19 lakh area in terms of cost.

Hyundai Exter

The Exter, Hyundai’s newest and most cheap SUV, will be available in July. This new micro-SUV will compete in the country with Tata’s most popular micro-SUV, the Punch, and will be priced between Rs 6 and 10 lakh. The Exter will be available with a 1.2L Kappa Petrol engine that is now E20 Fuel ready, as well as a 1.2L Bi-fuel Kappa petrol engine that can also run on CNG. The business has not yet disclosed power specifications for either powertrain, although the petrol engine is expected to produce a maximum of 83 PS and 113.8 Nm of torque.

Kia Seltos facelift

The South Korean automaker Kia’s Seltos facelift will be available in July. This new facelifted model will continue to compete with its cousin, the Creta, and other renowned mid-size SUVs. It was recently announced that the future model will include a panoramic sunroof, something the current model does not have. There will be changes to both the outside and interior design. The 1.5-litre petrol engine with 115 horsepower and 144 Nm, as well as the 1.5-liter turbo-diesel engine with 116 horsepower and 250 Nm, will be offered as powertrains.

Citroen C3 Aircross

Citroen, the French automaker, will introduce its newest SUV, the C3 Aircross, in August, competing in the mid-size SUV sector. Because of its 4.3m length, the new C3 Aircross SUV will have a roomy cabin and will be available in 5-seat and 5+2-seat configurations, a segment first. The C3 Aircross will only be available with a 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine capable of 110hp and 190 Nm of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox will handle the gearbox tasks.

Tata Nexon facelift

Tata Nexon will receive a facelift in August of this year. The Nexon facelift will battle with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai, and others to reclaim the sector lead. The SUV will have several outward and interior design enhancements. According to sources, the revised Tata Nexon may have a new 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, which was previously shown off at the Auto Expo 2023. The new engine promises 125 bhp and 225 Nm of maximum power output, which is 5 bhp and 55 Nm greater than the current engine’s performance ratings.

Hyundai Creta facelift

The Creta facelift from South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor India will be the lone SUV to arrive in September. The Creta is now the segment champion, and with the release of the facelift, the business hopes to preserve its position at the top of the country’s mid-size SUV segment. Hyundai will equip the new Creta facelift with the same ADAS system that is available in the new Tucson. The Creta will very certainly keep the current powertrains. The SUV’s front end will have an entirely new design.

Tata Harrier facelift

Tata Motors will unveil the new facelifted version of their famous mid-size SUV, the Harrier, in India in October. According to reports, it will maintain the current Harrier’s characteristics and be powered by the same 2.0-litre diesel engine with an option of 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. However, the new Turbo Petrol engine might be available alongside the current powertrains.

Tata Safari facelift

The updated version of the Tata Safari is set to launch in October. It will come with several new features and enhanced ADAS technology to compete with the leading Mahindra XUV700. The anticipated facelifted Tata Safari is expected to feature a new 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine, which was first showcased by the company at the 2023 Auto Expo, delivering a peak power of 168bhp and peak torque of 280Nm.

Moreover, the flagship SUV of the company is anticipated to continue offering the 2.0-liter Kyrotec diesel engine, which boasts a power output of 170 PS and a torque of 350 Nm. This engine can be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Kia Sonet facelift

Kia India is expected to introduce a facelift for its subcompact SUV, Sonet, in December. Although details about this SUV are scant at the moment, it is expected to have a fresh exterior and interior design, as the existing model has been on the market for quite some time. The powertrain options are likely to remain the same. It will fight with rivals such as the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and others when it is released.
