When a privileged public prosecutor and a humble courtroom stenographer are forced to confront the same case — whose version of justice wins? That’s the electric central question of System, and the answer promises to be deeply uncomfortable. Sonakshi Sinha plays Neha Rajvansh, a privileged and accomplished public prosecutor, while Jyotika essays the role of Sarika Rawat, a courtroom stenographer who navigates life from a modest background — their lives intersecting in unexpected ways that set the stage for a story where personal choices and professional duties begin to dangerously overlap.

What Is System About?

The official synopsis reads: “When Neha Rajvansh, a privileged public prosecutor, meets Sarika Rawat, a courtroom stenographer from a humble background, their lives are thrown into upheaval — where power defines truth, blurring the system and raising a question of what justice truly means to them.”

The series centres on two women from contrasting worlds whose lives intersect in ways that force both to question the very meaning of justice — exploring how “truth” is often a flexible concept defined by those in power. This isn’t a courtroom procedural. It’s a human story about how the system protects some and crushes others — and what two women at opposite ends of it choose to do about that.

Why This Is a Dream Team on Every Level?

Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari — the filmmaker behind Nil Battey Sannata, Bareilly Ki Barfi, and Panga — has built her entire career around women navigating systemic barriers with quiet, fierce dignity. System marks a significant departure into high-stakes legal drama — and industry experts believe this is a natural and powerful extension of her filmmaking philosophy.

This marks Jyotika’s next on-screen appearance following Dabba Cartel — and her Hindi OTT debut places her directly opposite one of Bollywood’s most recognisable faces in Sonakshi Sinha. Their contrasting registers — Jyotika’s restrained emotional precision versus Sonakshi’s forceful screen presence — is a pairing that feels genuinely explosive on paper.

Legendary filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker — director of Lagaan and Swades — appears in a key role, bringing exceptional dramatic weight to the courtroom setting. That’s not a supporting cast. That’s a statement.
