Hansal Mehta’s Scam franchise is back with its third chapter. The first look of Scam 2010 dropped on Monday, and the series is set to premiere on Sony LIV in January 2027. This time the story follows the rise and fall of Sahara Group founder Subrata Roy.

The show is inspired by Roy’s life and controversies. It traces how he built the Sahara India Pariwar empire through small savings schemes, then moves into the regulatory scrutiny and legal battles that followed and eventually led to his downfall. Roy died in November 2023 at the age of 75 after a prolonged illness.

Who Is Siddharth Bodke?

Bodke steps into the lead after appearing in Marathi and Hindi films such as Neighbours, Sridevi Prasanna and Shahid Kapoor’s Deva. He has said the scale of the project and the complexity of the character drew him in, describing a man marked by ambition, power and flaws.

Where the Franchise Began?

The franchise started with Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, starring Pratik Gandhi as the stockbroker at the centre of the 1992 securities scam.
