Donald Grover arrives for a new horror thriller titled ‘Swarm‘ which will land next month. Following the ending of Atlanta, Glover maintained his momentum and continues his trend of music-related and black-led stories. In this series, Glover developed Swarm with co-creator Janine Nabers. The actor, comedian, and rapper are also set to star in and adapt the reboot series of the 2005 film Mr. and Mrs. Smith with co-creator Francesa Sloane.
The Swarm trailer explored more of Dre’s relationship with her sister, Marissa has happened to share the same music interests since they were kids. Marissa’s departure from the fandom isolates Dre, who has been committed to posting on her Twitter stan account and watching her music idol, Ni’jah, on TV. She has approached a breakdown, and Dre has encountered new people and possible fans who recognize her as “A killer bee. Part of the swarm”.
Swarm: Plot
The tale of Swarm revolves around a Beyoncé-type figure and an obsessed fan. The series is looking on representing some fierce commentary about fan culture and parasocial relationships between fans and celebrities. Beyoncé and other popular music artists are known to have very dedicated fan bases erring on the side of possessiveness, it sets up a fascinating story for Swarm that explores this culture.
Swarm: Cast
The new series has featured singer Grown-ish as Chlöe Bailey, as Dre’s sister, Marissa, and Damson Idris, who plays Marissa’s boyfriend, Khalid. In this series, we will see Rickey Thompson, musician Paris Jackson, Rory Culkin, Kiersey Clemons, and Byron Bowers. Their roles are currently undisclosed but their characters most likely cross paths with Dre’s mission.
On this the brother of Donald, and frequent collaborator, Karen Joseph Adcock, and Malia Obama, the daughter of former president Barack Obama. Stephen Glover, Fam Udeorji, Steven Prinz, and Michael Schaefer join Donald Glover and Janine Nabers as executive producers.
Swarm: Release Date
The horror series is set to premiere the entire first season exclusively on Prime Video on March 17, 2023. Prior to the worldwide streaming release, the series will premiere for the first time at SXSW on 10th March 2023. The series will release all seven episodes together on 17th March 2023.
