“Street World Fighter: Directors’ War” is the newest expansion of Mnet’s hit Street Woman Fighter franchise, this time turning the spotlight onto performance directors — the creative architects who design and shape every stage. Sung Han Bin shared that returning as host feels meaningful given his love for dance, and that he re-watched the previous season closely to fine-tune his hosting rhythm and energy for this one.
According to the production team, he even described his job satisfaction on set as being at an all-time high, underscoring his genuine enthusiasm for the show.
What makes this season distinct, according to Sung Han Bin, is the shift in spotlight: instead of dancer battles driving the excitement, it’s the performance directors’ creative vision and stage-building process taking center stage. Having collaborated with performance directors throughout his own career, he noted how valuable it is for performers to work alongside someone bringing a sharp creative eye to a project.
He also revealed that watching directors reinterpret each other’s signature choreography during filming left a strong creative impression on him, even inspiring him to revisit past competition footage of contestants — reflecting a broader appreciation for the craft behind street dance as a performance art form.
“Street World Fighter: Directors’ War” premieres simultaneously on Mnet and tvN on August 18 at 10 p.m. KST.
