What if you could instantly see a player’s true potential, but still had to decide whether potential matters more than effort? That’s the question at the heart of tvN’s upcoming sports drama GIFT, and the new stills show its two leads already pulling in opposite directions.

GIFT : Overview

Detail	Info
Drama	GIFT
Network	tvN
Premiere	5 December 2026, 9:10 p.m. KST
Genre	Sports drama, based on a popular webtoon
Stars	Kim Woo Bin as Jung Min Yong, Seo Eun Soo as Yoon Seo Jin
Setting	Dukchun High School baseball team

The Story

Jung Min Yong is a former professional baseball pitching coach. After an unexpected accident, he gains a special ability to see through athletes’ talent and potential. He ends up as head coach of the high school team ranked last in the nation.

Here’s the twist. He once believed in process and personal growth over game results. Now, with his new power, he starts judging the team by its players’ natural abilities.

The Other Side of the Dugout

Yoon Seo Jin, played by Seo Eun Soo, is the head of Dukchun High School’s baseball team. She’s determined to save the team from disbandment and keeps believing in the players’ hard work and potential. In other words, one leader trusts what he can see, and the other trusts effort.

What the New Stills Show?

Soompi reports that the newly released stills highlight both characters. In one, Jung Min Yong wears a red baseball jacket and watches from the dugout. Another shows him holding strategy sheets, gazing at the field. Yoon Seo Jin stands with arms crossed in one image and watches her players from behind in another, which hints at her responsibility and affection for the team.

Why This Clash Is the Hook?

The drama sets natural talent against hard work, and that clash is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the team. Both leads share a real passion for baseball, so expect their different approaches to push the team in unexpected ways.

While You Wait?

Soompi suggests checking out Kim Woo Bin in the film Alienoid: Return to the Future and Seo Eun Soo in Unlock My Boss. Both are available on Viki.
