The Duffer brothers recently addressed fan concerns about the ending, stating that the thematic tension centers on how Eleven can achieve happiness when she’ll still be hunted by the military. They’ve hinted at significant character deaths—something notably absent from Volume 2.
Series cocreator Matt Duffer teased: “Because it’s the last season, you can play a little rougher with the toys”, suggesting emotional stakes have never been higher.
