A few months ago every cine-goers and trade analyst was worried that whether Bollywood can again produce a blockbuster movie or not like KGF 2 and Bahubali 2. But unfortunately, this year SRK’s new movie Pathaan was released and made a blockbuster.
It has shockingly broken the record of KGF 2 in the race for the highest-grosser movie. Previously, Bahubali: Chapter 2 currently holds that throne by earning whooping Rs. 515 crores. And KGF: Chapter 2 which earned Rs. 435 crores is in the second position. But now, after the release of the movie Pathaan, till the 7th of February as per the reports concerned, it has earned Rs 430 crores only from the Hindi version itself. It indirectly indicates that till now it has broken the record of KGF2.

The real question that still lies is SRK vs Prabhas, whether Pathaan is going to beat the record of Bahubali 2 or not? Bahubali 2 is holding the position of the Highest grosser Hindi film for almost five years and become the highest-grossing Hindi language film in India.
The way in which Pathaan is moving forward at the box office it seems that it is not so difficult to break the record of Bahubali 2 as it only needs another 85-90 crores for its kitty to finally wear the crown of ‘Highest grossing Hindi film of all time’. But it’s also not too simple. It needs to overcome a few obstacles to achieve this goal.
The first obstacle is the competition from other big releases. SRK’s movie had a free run at the ticket window as there was no big release in the last couple of weeks, but this free run is going to end soon as two big and highly anticipated films are scheduled to release next week on 17th February 2023 starring Kartik Aryan, Kriti Sanon for the movie Shehzada and MCU’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Both these two films will take the most number of screens, hence if Pathaan has to sit on the throne of the Highest grosser Hindi film of all time, it needs to achieve that goal before 17th February 2023.
Another obstacle in achieving this goal is easy access to all important key plot details of Pathaan on social media and the internet. And to make matters worse Boycott Bollywood gang is intentionally spreading spoilers on social media. In spy thriller films, important twist and turn and mysteries are major points of enjoyment. But because now all the important key plot details of the film are already available at your fingertips, there is some chance that people might not be too eager to visit the theatre to watch Pathaan anymore.
