About the Show

Critical Reception
Despite positive reviews, including a 92 percent critics score and 90 percent audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as 11 Emmy nominations, the most of any Prime Video series this year, Spider-Noir will not return for a second season.
The series got off to a decent start following its May premiere, opening at number 2 on the Nielsen U.S. Top 10 charts. But its initial buzz was short-lived, as it fell out of the Top 10 fairly quickly.

Sony and Prime Video Partnership Continues
Despite the cancellation, the broader Amazon and Sony collaboration remains very much alive. Spider-Noir was the first Marvel-related series to premiere out of Amazon’s pact with Sony Pictures TV to develop characters and stories from the Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Characters. The second series to come out of that partnership is already in development and is expected to be announced soon.
Reports reveal that the two sides are carrying on with development of multiple projects, including one mystery title that is said to be nearing a series order.
As for Amazon’s deal to develop multiple live-action shows based on Marvel characters controlled by Sony, the first project originally greenlit was Silk: Spider Society, with Angela Kang as showrunner, but that show was later scrapped. That meant Spider-Noir instead was the first release under the arrangement.
Nicolas Cage and Spider-Man’s Future
Cage did not reprise the role of Noir for the recent Across the Spider-Verse animated sequel, but is expected to return for the final film in the animated trilogy, Beyond the Spider-Verse.
