Sony specializes in various fields, television is one of those. The image processing power paired with its signature audio output satisfying users’ content viewing experience throughout a long time period. Now, it is pushing its boundaries further with its new Bravia XR TV series. The specialty of these new products is Sony’s Cognitive Processor XR. Before discussing the new television processor here’s the TV models – Master Series Z9J 8K LED; Master Series A90J and A80J OLED; and X95J and X90J 4K LED.
In simple words, the Cognitive Processor XR is the upgraded brain of the new Bravia XR series TVs, and what are the capabilities of this chip? Well, as per the company the new chip can replicate the ways humans see any object and listen. The chip divides a particular scene into several zone parts and then look for the “vocal point” in the picture, thanks to the power of cognitive intelligence. Opposite to cognitive intelligence, artificial intelligence can only read and analyze picture properties like color, contrast, and all.
Besides these, the Cognitive Processor XR is also can take care of the audio position over the video on the screen, along with converting any sound into a 3D one. The processor actually learns, analyze, and understand a bulk amount of data and apply that knowledge to every pixel, frame, and scene to deliver a never before lifelike picture and sound output.
Mike Fasulo, president and chief operating officer of Sony Electronics, Inc said, “Sony’s goal is to offer viewers the best and most immersive experience – authentically delivering the creator’s true intent,” He further added, “Our new BRAVIA CORE technology and the XR lineup takes the industry to the next level with a powerful, cinematic experience, enabled by the world’s first TVs with cognitive processors1.”
