Sony reveals the futuristic PS5 officially

Yesterday, finally, Sony revealed their new PS5 officially and yes it looks gorgeous & futuristic. It will be the successor to the popular PS4 series and this new gaming console series will feature two variants: the normal Playstation 5 featuring a traditional optical disc drive along with ‘Digital Edition’ that is targeted towards gamers who seem happy to download games.

Most probably, the PS5 digital edition will have a lower price than the other one but the pricing still remains unclear. Previously, Sony unveiled the PS5 controller, name it ‘Dualsense’, the company revealed the DualSense charging station for it, which can be really handy for charging the controller on the go.

Apart from these, also there’s a compact HD camera, a Pulse 3D wireless gaming headset and a media remote control. Accessories aside, the PS5 will feature a custom AMD Zen 2 based octa-core CPU with an integrated AMD RDNA 2 graphics that promises to deliver strong 4K gaming experience.

The PS5 to feature 10.28 TFLOPS of precision floating point performance but is less powerful than its rival Xbox Series One X console. Learn more about the PS5’s hardware from here.

Also, the PS5 is said to feature 825 GB of internal SSD storage which connects to a custom flash via a 12-channel interface delivering a 5.5 GB/s of raw throughput. The console’s SSD so fast that the console’s 16 GB of memory can be filled in just two seconds i.e. 2 GB in 0.25 seconds. Learn more about the PS5’s storage here.
