When Two Wounded Women Finally Talk: Go Youn Jung and Han Sun Hwa Share the Most Moving Scene in We Are All Trying Here

Some K-drama moments hit differently — not because of grand gestures or dramatic twists, but because they feel heartbreakingly real. The latest episode preview for JTBC’s We Are All Trying Here promises exactly that kind of scene, as two of the show’s most complex female characters finally drop their guards and truly connect.

What’s Happening Between Byun Eun Ah and Jang Mi Ran?

In newly released stills from the upcoming episode, Byun Eun Ah (played by Go Youn Jung) and Jang Mi Ran (played by Han Sun Hwa) are seen sharing an intimate late-night conversation — drinks in hand, walls completely down.

Their dynamic has been building quietly all season. Eun Ah’s blunt, unfiltered feedback stung Jang Mi Ran at first, but it also cut through to truths she hadn’t been willing to face. Now, that uncomfortable honesty has evolved into something much warmer: trust.

Behind Jang Mi Ran’s polished, glamorous image as a top actress lies a deep, hidden loneliness — an emotional void she’s never admitted to anyone. In this girls-night scene, she finally voices it aloud, while Eun Ah watches her with quiet compassion rather than judgment.

The production team offered a tantalizing tease: “Please keep an eye on what sort of relationship will be built by these two characters, each of whom has shared their respective wounds with the other, under the common denominator of their shared mother Oh Jung Hee.”

A shared mother. A shared wound. This friendship was never going to be simple.

What Is We Are All Trying Here?

We Are All Trying Here (its literal Korean title translates to “Everyone Is Fighting Their Own Worthlessness”) is JTBC’s emotionally raw weekend drama from acclaimed writer Park Hae-young — the genius behind My Mister and My Liberation Notes — and director Cha Young-hoon (When the Camellia Blooms).

The story centres on a tight-knit circle of South Korean film industry friends who all appear to be thriving — except one.

The series streams on Netflix globally alongside its JTBC broadcast every Saturday and Sunday, and runs until May 24, 2026.

Why This Female Friendship Matters?

In a drama that’s largely told through the lens of male inadequacy and jealousy, the slow-burning friendship between Eun Ah and Mi Ran is quietly becoming its emotional backbone. Go Youn Jung — who previously stunned in Alchemy of Souls and Resident Playbook — brings a controlled restraint to Eun Ah that makes her rare moments of warmth feel genuinely earned. Han Sun Hwa, meanwhile, layers Mi Ran with just enough fractures beneath the polish to make this breakdown feel inevitable rather than manufactured.

This is the kind of female friendship K-drama rarely gives us enough time with — and it’s arriving right when the show needs it most.
