Shakira and Serge Ibaka Dating Rumours Grow

Shakira has once again become a talking point in the entertainment world, but this time the attention is on her personal life. The Colombian singer is reportedly being linked to former NBA basketball player Serge Ibaka, with celebrity journalists suggesting that their friendship could be developing into something more.

The speculation emerged as Shakira wrapped up her successful Madrid concert residency. However, despite the growing rumours, neither Shakira nor Ibaka has publicly confirmed that they are in a romantic relationship.

How Did Shakira and Serge Ibaka Dating Rumours Begin?

According to a report by Spanish-language entertainment programme El Gordo y la Flaca, journalist Jordi Martín claimed that Ibaka could be Shakira’s new romantic interest.

The reports gained further attention after journalist Aurelio Manzanero, cited by Spanish newspaper La Razón, reportedly said that people close to the singer acknowledged that the pair had gone out together several times. However, those sources reportedly described them as friends rather than confirming a romantic relationship.

The distinction is important: spending time together does not necessarily mean two people are dating, and no official confirmation has emerged.

Did Serge Ibaka Attend Shakira’s Madrid Concerts?

Reports suggest that Ibaka attended several of Shakira’s concerts while he was in Madrid. Celebrity journalist Jordi Martín also claimed that the two had travelled together on a private jet, including a reported trip to Paris during fashion week.

These accounts have added to public curiosity, but they remain claims attributed to entertainment reporters. Neither celebrity has publicly confirmed the reported trips or explained the nature of their relationship.

For now, the available reports offer clues that have fuelled speculation, rather than definitive proof of a romance.

Who Is Serge Ibaka?

Serge Ibaka is a professional basketball player of Congolese origin who holds Spanish nationality. He spent much of his career in the NBA, representing teams including the Oklahoma City Thunder, Orlando Magic, Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Clippers and Milwaukee Bucks.

Ibaka won an NBA championship with the Toronto Raptors in 2019. He also played for Real Madrid’s basketball team, bringing him into the Spanish sporting world beyond the NBA.

His previous reported relationships have included French model Cindy Bruna and American singer Keri Hilson. The latest rumours have now placed his name alongside one of the biggest stars in Latin music.

Shakira’s Life After Gerard Piqué

Shakira’s personal life has attracted considerable public attention since her separation from former Barcelona footballer Gerard Piqué in 2022. Since then, the singer has continued to focus on her music, performances and international career.

Her recent Madrid residency has kept her in the headlines, while the reported connection with Ibaka has added another layer of interest among fans.

However, the singer’s private life should not be confused with unverified claims circulating in entertainment media. Until either person addresses the reports directly, the nature of their connection remains unclear.

Are Shakira and Serge Ibaka Officially Dating?

As of October 13, 2026, there is no public confirmation from Shakira or Serge Ibaka that they are a couple. Reports describe them as having spent time together, while other claims suggest their friendship may be romantic.

For now, the story remains a developing celebrity rumour rather than a confirmed relationship. Fans will have to wait for a statement from either of them before drawing firm conclusions.
