Meet the Characters
Cheon Yeo Ri — Park Eun Bin
Park Eun Bin plays the heiress to the country’s most prestigious luxury hotel group. On the surface she’s glamorous, wealthy, and has it all — but beneath that image is someone who has spent her entire life isolated from the world because she can see ghosts. It’s a role built for Park Eun Bin’s ability to layer genuine sorrow beneath a composed exterior, and early reports from the script reading suggest she delivered exactly that with sorrowful eyes and a quietly aching voice.
Ma Gang Wook — Yang Se Jong
Yang Se Jong steps into the role of a passionate, justice-driven prosecutor whose life takes a sharp turn when he crosses paths with Cheon Yeo Ri and gets pulled into a series of deeply strange incidents. Despite his very reasonable fear of the supernatural, Gang Wook stays by her side — driven by his innate sense of empathy and duty. Yang Se Jong’s ability to play quietly reliable, emotionally warm characters makes him a natural fit for this role.
Kang Min Hwan — Ong Seong Wu
Here’s where the story gets its intriguing edge. Ong Seong Wu plays the CEO of CL Raymond Hotel — a close friend to Cheon Yeo Ri with a warm smile that hides something far more calculating underneath. The way his entire demeanour shifts depending on who he’s speaking to was already on full display during the script reading, hinting at a character arc that’s going to keep viewers guessing.
Why This Drama Is Already Creating Buzz
Spooky in Love is a remake of the beloved 2011 film Spellbound, which told the story of a woman haunted by ghosts and the man who falls for her — a concept that already proved its emotional and comedic potential on the big screen. Reimagined as a full drama series with an investigative thriller thread woven through the romance, the expanded format gives the story far more room to breathe and build.
The production team described the show as a journey that delivers excitement, chills, and catharsis all at once — promising that the playful push-and-pull between a ghost-seeing chaebol heiress and a passionate prosecutor will be the emotional engine driving the whole series.
What makes Spooky in Love particularly timely is its summer premiere slot. Occult fiction with a romantic twist has historically performed very well as summer K-drama viewing, and with Park Eun Bin herself promising viewers “a chilling summer amid the intense heat,” the show seems to know exactly what it is — and leans into it with confidence.
It’s also worth noting that Park Eun Bin is essentially pulling off a remarkable double in 2026 — The WONDERfools on Netflix in May followed by Spooky in Love on tvN in July. That’s a level of back-to-back momentum that very few actors can sustain, and she’s making it look effortless.
