Sardar 2 Box Office Day 5 Collections: Karthi’s Sequel Slows Down to Rs 15 Crore Amid Mixed Reviews and Mandaadi Clash

Sequels carry a heavy burden — they have to live up to a legacy while proving they belong on their own terms. Five days in, Sardar 2 is finding that balance hard to strike. Karthi and SJ Suryah’s action drama added just around Rs 2 crore on Day 5, a holiday no less, pushing its total to an underwhelming Rs 15 crore.

The film opened to mixed reactions from day one, and a box office clash with Soori’s Mandaadi hasn’t helped its cause either.

Sardar 2 :Day-Wise Box Office Collections

After a strong opening day, the film has plateaued rather than grown — a pattern that usually points to weak word-of-mouth rather than a temporary slump.

What’s Sardar 2 About?

The story follows Vijay Prakash, an operative drawn into a high-stakes mission against a dangerous foe called Black Dagger, who is hunting a biochemical weapon known as Doku. The mission reunites him with his father, Chandra Bose, whose own past with Black Dagger adds emotional stakes to the chase.

Reviews suggest the film’s second half loses narrative grip as scale takes over storytelling — a common trap for action sequels chasing bigger spectacle.
