Storage bottlenecks are the quiet killer of high-end setups — a powerful GPU means little if your drive can’t keep pace with AI workloads, 8K footage, or the next AAA game install. Sandisk just addressed that gap directly, launching two new NVMe SSDs in India built specifically for people pushing their systems hard.

The Sandisk Optimus GX PRO 8100 and Sandisk Optimus GX 7100 are now available, targeting gamers, creators, and professionals who need genuinely fast, high-capacity internal storage rather than budget compromises.

GX PRO 8100: Built for Serious Workloads

The GX PRO 8100 is unambiguously aimed at power users — AI PC builders, workstation owners, and creators juggling massive files. Its PCIe 5.0 interface delivers blistering read and write speeds that make short work of large dataset transfers, video exports, or intensive multitasking. The 8TB variant’s 4,800 TBW endurance rating signals this drive is meant for frequent, heavy data writes rather than occasional use, while the optional anodised aluminium heatsink helps sustain performance during long, demanding sessions without thermal throttling.

GX 7100: Balanced Performance for Gaming and Creativity

The GX 7100 takes a slightly different approach, optimizing for a sweet spot between speed and everyday practicality. Built on PCIe 4.0 with integrated nCache 4.0 technology, it’s designed to keep AAA games responsive and handle creative workloads without the premium price tag of the PRO model. With capacities from 500GB to 4TB, it’s a flexible option for laptops and handhelds where users need meaningful storage without overspending.

Why This Launch Matters

As AI-powered tools, high-resolution content creation, and increasingly data-heavy games become the norm, local storage is quickly becoming as important a bottleneck as CPU or GPU performance. Sandisk positioning these two drives at different price and performance tiers gives Indian consumers a genuine choice — whether they need workstation-grade throughput or a balanced everyday upgrade.

Both SSDs are currently available on Amazon India, with the GX PRO 8100 starting at ₹34,999 and the GX 7100 at ₹26,799 for their 1TB variants.
