While most Bollywood releases are battling steep drops and shrinking screen counts, one film is quietly rewriting the rules of regional cinema in 2026. Deool Band 2 is not just a hit — it is becoming a cultural event in Maharashtra, and the numbers are nothing short of extraordinary.

Deool Band 2: 2nd Weekend Box Office Performance

Deool Band 2, directed by Pravin Tarde, showed no signs of slowing down. The film witnessed a 10 per cent spike on its second Sunday, adding Rs 7 crore to the tally, taking its three-day second weekend cume to Rs 17 crore gross — just 10 per cent down from its four-day opening weekend of Rs 18.50 crore.

That is an almost flat weekend-on-weekend hold, which is practically unheard of even for major Bollywood productions.

The film stormed past the Rs 50 crore gross mark at the domestic box office in just 11 days, with the Mohan Joshi starrer currently standing at Rs 54.25 crore and looking to close its second week around Rs 65 crore gross. DM Talkies

Day / Period	Box Office
Week 1 (8 Days)	Rs 37.25 crore
2nd Friday	Rs 3.75 crore
2nd Saturday	Rs 6.25 crore
2nd Sunday	Rs 7.00 crore (est.)
Total (11 Days)	Rs 54.25 crore (est.)

Why This Is a Historic Achievement

A mere 10 per cent second-weekend drop is the hallmark of a film with exceptional word-of-mouth and deep community connect. For context, most mainstream Hindi films see drops of 40–60 per cent between their first and second weekends.

The film recorded the second biggest second weekend of all time for a Marathi film — a staggering achievement for a devotional drama made within the regional cinema ecosystem.

Deool Band 2 is a prime example of what the Marathi film industry does best — rooted storytelling that speaks directly to the hearts of its audience, requiring no pan-India marketing machinery to fill seats.

Can It Become the Biggest Marathi Film Ever?

Based on current trends, the devotional drama has the potential to overtake Raja Shivaji, Baipan Bhari Deva, and Sairat in Maharashtra. Whether the film can surpass Raja Shivaji at the all-India level as well, and emerge as a new Industry Hit, will be a fascinating watch in the weeks ahead. DM Talkies

Given the near-flat holds and strong weekend-to-weekend consistency, the Rs 100 crore club is no longer just a dream for this film — it is a very real possibility.
