Weekends tell you who showed up. Weekdays tell you who stayed. Nayyi Navelli has now finished its first weekend, and the story so far is decent, but not yet settled.

Nayyi Navell: Snapshot

Detail	Info
Film	Nayyi Navelli
Genre	Horror comedy drama
Lead	Yami Gautam Dhar
Director	Balaji Mohan
Day 3 (Sunday)	About Rs 4 crore nett
3-day total	About Rs 11 crore nett
Verdict so far	Decent, with weekdays deciding the rest

The Day-Wise Numbers

Day	Nett Collection
Day 1 (Friday)	Rs 3 crore
Day 2 (Saturday)	Rs 4 crore
Day 3 (Sunday, approx.)	Rs 4 crore
Total	Rs 11 crore

The film opened at Rs 3 crore, rose on Saturday and then held steady on Sunday. A flat Sunday is slightly less exciting than a further jump, but it still took the total past the Rs 10 crore mark. For more weekend trends, see Technosports’ box office coverage.

Beating HAQ

According to Pinkvilla, the film performed better than Yami Gautam’s previous release, HAQ, in its opening weekend. That’s a positive for her box office track record, though it doesn’t guarantee a long run.

The Weekday Challenge

Here’s where the story gets tricky. The film has received mixed word of mouth, which could affect how it holds from Monday onward. A horror comedy relies on audience recommendations more than most genres, so the weekdays will show whether the film stabilizes or slides.

Scenario	What it would mean
Strong Monday hold	Word of mouth is improving and the run could extend
Steep drop	The weekend was mostly curiosity and the total could stall

What Is the Film About?

Set in Meerut, the story follows a troubled household whose luck changes when a mysterious new bride arrives. Her seemingly miraculous abilities bring peace and prosperity, but her presence also raises suspicion. Some believe she has supernatural powers, while others suspect she’s a witch.

The Takeaway

Rs 11 crore is a fair start, and beating HAQ is a small win. But with mixed audience reactions, the weekday numbers will tell us far more than the weekend did. Watch Monday closely.
