CM: Frenkie De Jong – €70m

De Jong has not quite hit the heights that everyone expected for him this season, but he continues to be a vital part of Barcelona’s midfield. The Dutchman is extremely versatile, which is being shown through his ability to play different roles in midfield.

CM: Gavi – €60m

The youngster has burst onto the scene with the arrival of Xavi and has also made his Spain debut. The skilful teenager is currently tied in contract negotiations with Barcelona, who are trying to renew his deal so that he can stay for longer at the club. Joao Felix is Atletico Madrid’s most expensive signing of all time. And while he hasn’t been consistent with his performances, he has been able to provide some vital goals and assists to help his team out. He has hit a good run of form right now, and it would be a testament to his value if he can maintain the quality of performances.
