Reliance Jio will pioneer the 5G Revolution in India in H2 2021: Mukesh Ambani

Mukesh Ambani has recently addressed in #IMC2020Virtual and stated the vision his company Reliance Jio has on India’s 5G network. Indeed, Reliance Jio has changed the face of India’s 4G infrastructure and supported the PM’s Digital India mission.

Jio believes that India will prove cynics wrong by becoming a $5 trillion economy with increased incomes, employment, and improved life quality. India has the historic opportunity to become the world’s preeminent DIGITAL SOCIETY with Ease of Living for all.

Mr. Ambani and his company Jio has presented four ideas for consideration:

  1. 300 million mobile subscribers in India are still trapped in the 2G era. Urgent policy steps are needed to ensure that these underprivileged people have an affordable smartphone. So, they can benefit from Direct Benefit Transfer into their bank accounts and actively participate in the Digital Economy.
  2. Policy steps are needed to accelerate the early rollout of 5G and make it affordable and available everywhere. JIO will pioneer the 5G Revolution in India in the second half of 2021. JIO’s 5G service will be a testimony to your inspiring vision of ATMA-NIRBHAR BHARAT.
  3. 5G will enable India to not only participate in the Fourth Industrial Revolution but also lead it. We are creating compelling home-grown solutions in Education, Healthcare, Agriculture, Infrastructure, Financial Services, and New Commerce. Once proven in India, each of these solutions will be offered to the rest of the world to address global challenges.
  4. India has developed world-class strengths in chip design and can become a major hub for the state-of-the-art semiconductor industry.

With its strong investments and partners, Reliance Jio aims to revolutionize India’s 5G network with its home-grown tech. With this announcement, we now have somewhat a clear idea of what and when we can expect Jio to start rolling out 5G across the country.

Already Jio and Qualcomm have merged on 5G to achieve over 1Gbps speed in Trials. If these kinds of speed can really be availed in India without any foreign tech then that would be a great achievement for Reliance Jio.
