Finally, the Redmi K40 series is going for the long-awaited official launch in China. Xiaomi has revealed the launch date of the Redmi K40 series which is on February 25. The series is expected to have three models and it will initially debut in China followed by the global launch. Apart from knowing about the launch date, Redmi K40 and K40 Pro first-look images revealed, credit goes to the TENAA certification website. As of now, we thought that there will be only two models in the K40 series, K40 and K40 Pro. But reports are saying that there will be a third model as well in this series, named Redmi K40S which will be powered by the 6 nm-based MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset. Now, let’s talk about the vanilla and Pro model of this series.
As per the TENAA listing, the Redmi K40 (M2012K11AC) will be available in a pale blue color with a centered punch-hole flat display. As per the camera module, it looks like an elongated version of that of the Mi 11. We can see a power button and the volume rocker on the right side. On the other hand, the Redmi K40 Pro will be available in black/gray color option having a similar design to the standard one, such as a centered punch-hole display and a quad rear camera setup. The Pro model is confirmed to have the 5G connectivity.

Apart from it, we’ve got some leaked screenshots (source) as well saying that the Redmi K40 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset and the K40 Pro will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset. Both the models are expected to have a similar type of display, such as a 6.81-inch AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz.
In terms of the camera section, both the phones have a quad rear camera setup in which a 108MP primary sensor will be there for both. For difference, the Redmi K40 Pro features a 13MP ultra-wide lens and a 5MP telephoto lens whereas the standard model features an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 5MP telephoto lens. For selfies, both the phones have a 30MP selfie snapper at the front.

As per the pricing, Redmi has already teased about the starting price of the K40 Pro which is around 2,999 yuan (approximately $466), so the standard version and the K40S will have a price tag in between.
