Why This Mentorship Is Different From a Typical Workshop

V3nom competed professionally from 2008 to 2019 — over a decade of active competition, primarily in Counter-Strike, representing India internationally. He wasn’t just a top player; he navigated India’s esports ecosystem through its most formative and chaotic years, before any of the structures, organisations, or career pathways that exist today. That context is what makes his perspective uniquely valuable to the 20 participants selected for this programme.

The workshop isn’t a lecture series. It’s built around scrim blocks with live player evaluation, coaching sessions with live feedback, review and adjustment rounds, and a community match with V3nom himself — followed by a showmatch-style draft and a final Q&A. That’s a tournament-adjacent structure, not a panel discussion. Participants will get on-court game reps with real evaluation, not just theory.

The inclusion of content creation and career pathway discussions alongside the in-game coaching is also deliberate. The reality of professional esports in India is that very few players sustain careers purely through competition — understanding the broader ecosystem, including streaming, community building, and organisational roles, is part of what separates players who build lasting careers from those who don’t.

V3nom put it plainly: aspiring players still lack structured mentorship on how to navigate the ecosystem — not just in-game skills, but the out-of-game mindset and requirements that matter equally. Red Bull Under My Wiiings is a direct attempt to close that gap, even if only for 20 players at a time.
