Realme 16 5G Listed on Vietnam Retailer with 4,500 Nits & IP69 Rating

A Vietnamese retailer prematurely listed the Realme 16 5G on January 15, 2026, revealing full specifications ahead of the official February 2 launch. The device features a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with 4,500 nits peak brightness, 120Hz refresh rate, IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K durability ratings, and ships in 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB configurations with Air Black and Air White colors.

Realme 16 5G Specifications

4,500 Nits Peak Brightness for Outdoor Visibility

The Realme 16 packs a 6.57-inch AMOLED panel delivering up to 4,500 nits peak brightness—ensuring excellent outdoor readability even in direct sunlight. The Full HD+ resolution with 120Hz refresh rate provides smooth scrolling and fluid animations, while AGC DT-Star D+ shield glass protects against scratches and drops.

For budget smartphone buyers, the IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings represent unprecedented durability in this segment. These certifications protect against dust ingress, water immersion up to 1.5 meters, and high-pressure water jets—making it suitable for outdoor activities and harsh conditions.

Design Inspired by Google Pixel with Selfie Mirror Twist

The device features a horizontal camera bar design similar to Google Pixel phones and the recently launched iPhone Air, but adds Realme’s unique twist: a dedicated selfie mirror next to the rear cameras. This practical addition lets users check their appearance before using the front camera.

Despite packing a large battery (capacity not disclosed), the Realme 16 maintains a slim 8.1mm profile and weighs just 183 grams—lighter than many competitors with smaller batteries. The in-screen fingerprint scanner provides convenient biometric authentication without requiring rear placement.

Connectivity and India Availability

The Realme 16 includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, IR blaster, and USB-C port—covering essential connectivity needs for modern users. The IR blaster enables TV and appliance remote control, while NFC supports contactless payments.

The Vietnamese retailer listing reveals February 2 as the official launch date, though pricing remains undisclosed. Indian variants are also expected to launch around the same timeframe, likely following Realme’s traditional pricing strategy positioning it below ₹30,000 to compete with Redmi, POCO, and Samsung Galaxy M series.

The 8GB/256GB base configuration provides ample storage for apps and media, while the 12GB/256GB variant targets power users needing extra RAM for multitasking and gaming. The Air Black and Air White color options maintain Realme’s minimalist design language.
