Realme 13 Series Preview: India Launch Date, Expected Price, Specs, and More

Realme is planning to renew its number series during this period before festivals globally and they are preparing for it as well after launching their first-ever Realme 13 Pro lineup last month in India. Now that the flagships are out of the way, it’s time for Realme to release some standard models – Realme 13 5G and Realme 13+ 5G, which are set to target a more budget-conscious segment.

Next week, it’s expected that these devices will launch in India on Thursday, August 29th at 12 PM. They will go on sale sometime in the first half of September and you could no doubt get your hands on one through online.

This launch comes roughly six months after the Realme 12 series was introduced in India, adhering to Realme’s typical biannual update cycle. The upcoming Realme 13 series is expected to be priced between ₹15,000 and ₹20,000, including various offers. This price range is competitive when compared to the Realme 12 and Realme 12+ models, which were introduced at ₹16,999 and ₹20,999, respectively. The top variants of these models were priced at ₹17,999 for the Realme 12 with 8/128GB and ₹21,999 for the Realme 12+ with 8/256GB.

The design of the Realme 13 series is inspired by the HUAWEI Mate 60 Pro, which adopts a look and feel that closely follows the form factor decisions made for its new generation models like the Narzo 70 Pro. Both variants come in a stunning matte finish and beneath the surface, you will find an interesting pattern that is separated near the circular camera bump to give it a unique dual-tone look. The phones also feature a flat frame which is par for the course in this range, and a camera bump design that might remind users of Vivo’s X100 series. Both models are expected to feature flat display panels, further enhancing their sleek design.

The Realme 13 series is being promoted as a performance-focused lineup with the slogan “Unmatched Speed.” Both models are expected to come with a 6.7-inch FHD+ display, though only the Realme 13+ might include an AMOLED panel. Geekbench listings suggest the Realme 13 will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC, while the Realme 13+ is set to feature the Dimensity 7300E processor, promising impressive performance with a 750,000+ Antutu score and up to 90FPS gameplay in select games.

The battery is expected to be a 5,000mAh unit with fast charging support, offering up to 45W VOOC charging in the Realme 13 and 80W in the Realme 13+. In terms of cameras, the Realme 13+ is rumored to have a dual rear camera setup with 50MP+2MP sensors, while the Realme 13+ could include a triple camera setup with an additional 8MP ultrawide sensor. Both models are expected to feature a 16MP front camera for selfies.
