Ram Kapoor’s Lock Upp Confession Just Revealed The Wedding Warning Nobody Knew About

Ram Kapoor has built a reputation for saying exactly what’s on his mind, and his latest stint on Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa just proved it once again. In a candid chat with a co-contestant, the actor openly admitted to being a self-described “playboy” before he married wife Gautami Kapoor — and revealed a warning call that happened behind the scenes before their wedding.

What Exactly Did He Say?

When co-contestant Shreya Kalra asked about his dating history, Ram didn’t dodge the question. “I was a playboy. I can’t count my affairs,” he admitted, clarifying that his reputation was firmly a pre-marriage chapter of his life.

The bigger reveal came next: producer and close friend Ektaa Kapoor was reportedly so worried about his track record that she personally called Gautami before the wedding to caution her. According to Ram, Ektaa told Gautami she should reconsider, given how many relationships he’d been through. Rather than downplay it, Ram backed her concern, saying he understood exactly why a friend would step in like that.

Why This Story Is Getting Attention

Reality shows built around confession-style formats have long thrived on exactly this kind of unfiltered honesty, a dynamic central to how reality television as a genre keeps audiences hooked season after season. What makes Ram’s admission land differently is the lack of defensiveness — he owns his past rather than minimizing it, which has resonated with viewers used to celebrities deflecting these kinds of questions.

Despite the concerns raised at the time, Ram and Gautami married in 2003 and have remained together since, now parents to two children.
