Jailer 2′ shooting wrap” The Times of India, where the actor addressed his fans directly about the status of the action entertainer and his next project, Dharman.

The confirmation is a significant moment for the franchise. Jailer (2023), directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, became one of Tamil cinema’s biggest theatrical hits, turning the original into a bonafide mass entertainer. The sequel has been on every trade watchlist since its greenlight, and Rajinikanth‘s update suggests post-production is now the focus for the team. “The shooting has been completed,” Rajinikanth said, signalling that the team is now firmly in the edit, VFX, and music-composition phase.

What the Video Reveals

The video, shared on The Times of India‘s official entertainment channel, shows Rajinikanth in a relaxed, conversational mood. While the bulk of the clip is centred on Jailer 2, the actor also confirmed that shooting for another project titled Dharman is currently underway.

That double-update makes the clip a two-in-one reveal for fans, covering the wrap of one title and the production stage of another. For trade analysts, the Jailer 2 wrap announcement triggers the countdown to a likely 2027 theatrical window. Tamil big-ticket releases typically require a 4-6 month post-production runway, meaning the marketing and trailer rollout should land in the first half of 2027 if the team holds to standard schedules. Worth noting: the original Jailer also went through a clean post-production cycle, with Anirudh Ravichander’s score emerging as a major theatrical draw in its own right. What Comes Next for Dharman

The second reveal in the video, that Dharman shoot is in progress, opens a fresh chapter in Rajinikanth’s already stacked 2026-27 slate. Dharman is expected to be a separate project, distinct in tone from the Jailer universe, and the simultaneous wrap on one film and shoot-progress on another underscores the actor’s punishing schedule even at this stage of his career.
