Not every hit announces itself with fireworks. Sometimes, a well-made dark comedy with the right cast just finds its audience — and keeps finding them, week after week. That’s exactly the story of Bharathanatyam 2 Mohiniyattam.

Bharathanatyam 2: Final Box Office Report

The Saiju Kurup starrer has collected around ₹27.50 crore in its four-week theatrical run, with the film expected to close its box office journey at approximately ₹28 crore gross at the Kerala box office.

Week	Kerala Gross Box Office
Week 1	₹7.50 crore
Week 2	₹9.25 crore
Week 3	₹7.75 crore
Week 4	₹3.00 crore
Total (Final)	~₹28 crore

Week 2 being the highest-grossing week is a sign of strong word-of-mouth — the film genuinely grew on audiences after its opening weekend.

Why This Result Is Impressive

Context matters here. The film emerged as a Super Hit venture thanks to its controlled budget and superb run — and it achieved this while Vaazha 2 was dominating the box office, making its theatrical journey all the more special.

Competing against a blockbuster and still pulling consistent numbers across four weeks? That’s not luck — that’s content doing its job. This is exactly the kind of Malayalam cinema success story that doesn’t get enough attention. For more such box office deep dives, head to Technosports.

What’s the Film About?

Bharathanatyam 2 Mohiniyattam is a sequel to the 2025 film Bharathanatyam. It follows Sasidharan Nair as his family travels to Sreekandapuram to settle matters related to his late father’s second family, leading to unexpected criminal, scandalous, and high-tension situations. Notably, this is also Saiju Kurup’s 150th film — a milestone worth celebrating in itself.

The dark comedy genre has long been a strength of Malayalam cinema, and this film is a fine addition to that tradition.

The film is now set to stream on a digital platform from the coming weekend, marking the end of its cinema run. If you missed it in theatres, the OTT release is your chance to catch up.
