Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. today announced the introduction of its Snapdragon® C Platform, a new processor engineered for the entry-tier laptop segment. The platform aims to provide modern computing experiences for devices starting at $300, targeting students, families, and small businesses.

The Snapdragon C platform is designed to deliver responsive performance for everyday computing tasks, including web browsing, video streaming, general productivity applications, and video calls. It also integrates a Neural Processing Unit (NPU), bringing artificial intelligence capabilities to the budget-friendly laptop market.

Performance and Efficiency Focus

Qualcomm states that the Snapdragon C is built for power-efficient operation, contributing to extended battery life and facilitating cool, quiet laptop designs. The company emphasizes that the platform is intended to maintain consistent performance for daily workloads without compromising portability.

Qualcomm

Kedar Kondap, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Compute and Gaming at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.(https://www.qualcomm.com/), remarked on the platform’s strategic positioning. “As costs rise and customer expectations evolve, Snapdragon C brings together value-oriented computing, all-day battery life, AI capabilities, and responsive performance in cool-quiet devices for expanded platform choice,” Kondap stated. “We’re delivering modern computing experiences that help our ecosystem reach new audiences and expanding access to reliable, efficient technology for students, families, customer-facing small businesses, and beyond.”

Market Availability

Laptops featuring the Snapdragon C platform are anticipated to be available from leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) such as Acer, HP, and Lenovo. These devices are expected to reach consumers later in 2026. This launch underscores ongoing industry developments in the mobile computing sector, particularly as manufacturers seek to integrate advanced features into more accessible price points.
