The unit I have received is in White colour and has a very appealing look. I have been using the unit for more than a week and you can say it is a short-term review. Though I personally test all aspects before writing a review where it includes the ANC for this model and some outdoor and indoor tests. Apart from all these tests, I have also tested this while gaming as well. Now let’s discuss in detail what are the final results.

Design and Built
The pTron Bassbuds ANC 992 has a similar design to the pTron Bassbuds Ultima with a similar kind of extended earpiece part, which means the lower part that remains outside the ear, but this time it is shorter than the Bassbuds Ultima. So you can see it as a compact version of the Bassbuds Ultima. There is a specific area on the earbuds for touch control and you can see the pTron branding on it. There is also an indicator that blinks while turned on.
You can also find two microphones on the earbuds, one on the inside and the other on the lower side of the in-ear part.
The charging case of the pTron Bassbuds ANC 992 has the branding at the front and there is a USB Type-C port at the bottom of the case. At the bottom of the case, you can also see an indicator.
Now coming to the built quality of the whole earbuds and the case, I can say that it has a very basic plastic built and it can withstand few accidental drops from waist height. Other than that it does not give any premium look or feel on the ear but does the work actually.

Audio Quality
Frankly speaking, the audio quality of the pTron Bassbuds ANC 992 is quite similar to the pTron Bassbuds Ultima. Similar to the pTron Bassbuds Ultima when the volume of the Bassbuds ANC 992 is kept at 100% the sound has a soothing effect but might not be needed every time. The 10mm Dynamic Speakers with High Bass exquisite sound details with proper Bass. The bass is very prominent and overall the quality is up to the mark for this price range. There seems to have been no issue while playing games with these headphones due to the low latency.
Active Noise Cancellation (ANC)
pTron Bassbuds ANC 992 has ANC or active noise cancellation feature that works pretty well for this earbud where the price point is a factor. This can be said as the cheapest ANC earbuds in India now, prior it was the pTron Bassbuds Ultima. It has three modes where the ANC mode when turned on gives proper noise-free audio within the ears. In the normal mode, we can hear the sounds like a normal earbud, but in the transparency mode, the outer mic of the earbud captures the outer sound and plays it in real-time. This transparency mode is the only mode that feels unreal to me. Overall, the ANC of this earbud works very well and in this mode, almost 80-90% of the outside sounds are blocked and gives a clear and crisp sound.
How to Pair?
Steps to pair the pTron Bassbuds ANC 992 with any iOS and Android devices.
- Open the lid of the case and take out the earbuds.
- Then turn on the Bluetooth of your smartphone/ iPad/ laptop.
- Search for any wireless device.
- Then the newly found device section you can see the name pTron ANC.
- Click on the name and then it will ask to pair with the TWS earbuds.
- Accept the prompt and pair with it.
Comfort and Usage
Each earbud of ptron Bassbuds ANC 992 is very lightweight and after fitting in ears it will feel like nothing is in the ears. From the design, it seems to have a physical noise cancellation design that will not allow any surrounding sound while plugged in the ears to enter ears but it doesn’t work so well even at full volume. Otherwise, it fits comfortably in the ears and feels great, moreover, it does not falls from the ears once fitted properly.
All conditions proof IPX4 sweat and water-resistant earbuds can be worn while workout, while the silicon tip is adjustable with two other spare ear tips of different sizes. Along with this, the touch controls make it more user-friendly and accessible with any one hand.
The microphone is quite impressive but one thing I have noticed in most of the pTron earbuds including this that in outdoor usage it faces a problem to receive the voice properly while I am talking in a crowded place with a mask on and without as well. In such a situation, you need to talk loudly so that the microphone can receive your sound properly.
Battery and Charging
The pTron Bassbuds ANC 992 has a playtime of 20 hours and 120 hours standby time, which is one of the best right now in the market. The Type-C charging port is at the back of the case and it can charge with 1.5 hours from 0 to 100. One fully charged case can charge the earbuds almost 3-5 times.
Our Thought
After using it for a week I am totally impressed with the audio quality, design and build of this earbud. The whole case of the TWS is very small and can be easily carried anywhere. There is no fear of falling from the ears but would recommend you all to handle it properly as it has a high tendency of falling while handling as it is so lightweight.
Considering the price of Rs.1,399 you can definitely go for the pTron Bassbuds ANC 992 TWS earbuds. You can also consider the pTron Bassbuds Ultima which has similar features to the Bassbuds ANC 992 but has an additional digital display on its case.
