Prabhas’ Fauzi Gets New Release Date: Dussehra 2026 Instead of Independence Day

The pan-India superstar Prabhas is back with exciting news! His much-anticipated period drama Fauzi, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, has reportedly shifted its release date from Independence Day 2026 to Dussehra 2026. This strategic move could position the film for a bigger festive opening.

Fauzi Release Update: Everything You Need to Know

Why the Release Date Change?

According to recent industry reports, Prabhas is prioritizing the completion of Fauzi’s shoot to ensure quality over rushed timelines. The Dussehra festival weekend offers a lucrative 4-5 day theatrical window, perfect for a big-budget period drama.

The film chronicles the story of an Azad Hind Force soldier in an alternative fictional take on historical events. With such ambitious storytelling, the team needs adequate post-production time to deliver a visual spectacle.

What Makes Fauzi Special?

Fauzi reunites the Sita Ramam director Hanu Raghavapudi with another epic love story set against wartime chaos. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast including:

• Mithun Chakraborty (veteran actor)
• Jaya Prada (legendary actress)
• Anupam Kher (critically acclaimed actor)
• Imanvi (debut as female lead)

The director has already announced plans for a two-part saga, with a prequel exploring different dimensions of Prabhas’ character arc.
