If you’ve been waiting for a K-drama that mixes genuine heart, laugh-out-loud comedy, and superhero chaos — all set in the delightfully chaotic backdrop of 1999 — your wait is almost over.
Netflix has dropped a brand new teaser for The WONDERfools, its upcoming superhero comedy K-drama starring Park Eun Bin and Cha Eun Woo in the lead roles. The teaser reveals her teleportation powers and his telekinesis — and honestly, watching two of Korean entertainment’s biggest stars discover they have superpowers with hilariously wide-eyed disbelief is exactly the kind of content the internet deserves right now.

The Story — Misfits, Superpowers, and an Impending Apocalypse
The four lead characters form a strange bunch of misfits who come together to save the world in an unlikely adventure. Set in 1999, they each discover their unusual superpowers and work together to protect their city, Haeseong, while facing off against villains. The old town setting taps into a widespread belief in apocalypse and fear of doom — a clever backdrop that makes the comedy land even harder.
In the newly released poster, the four characters appear in their quirky forms with objects flying around them, accompanied by the tagline “Lovable misfits on a superpowered adventure.” — which is honestly the most accurate three-word pitch for a K-drama we’ve seen in a while.
The show blends the charm of the superhero fiction genre with distinctly Korean storytelling sensibilities — grounded characters, emotional depth, and a generous dose of absurdist humour that the best K-comedies are known for. The late-90s setting adds a nostalgic warmth that feels genuinely fresh for the genre.
Park Eun Bin, fresh off back-to-back acclaimed performances, paired with Cha Eun Woo — who has been steadily building his acting credentials — makes this one of the most anticipated K-drama pairings of 2026.
